EVENT DAY AND LOCATION INFO >>
What time should I arrive?
The first wave starts at 8:00 am and the last wave will be at 3:00 pm. Based on whatever wave you register for, you will need to show up approximately 90 minutes before your wave for check-in. Parking will be busy and so will check-in, so give yourself plenty of time to take a selfie.
What should I bring?
A valid ID with your birthday to check in if you’re over 16
Cash for parking and food and drinks at the after-party
Garbage bag to store your muddy clothes…they will be sopping!
A towel to dry off and protect your seat home
Change of clothes and sandals for after the rinse station and changing tent
Your ticket printed from your Eventbrite account
Your self! You must be present at the event to pick up your registration packet
Appropriate Clothes We don’t even know what this means but we felt like we should put this in here. Some people will wear Superman costumes for good luck, some people will wear just a speedo to offend everyone. The only thing we require is that you’re clothed in a fashion that wouldn’t get you arrested. If you’re trying to win the race, then we recommend wearing spandex shorts, a tight shirt and running shoes. Then immediately replacing the spandex shorts for board shorts at the finish line so that you can have cool finish photos.
Are pets allowed?
Although Fido may want to join the muddy fun, animals (with the exception of service dogs) are not allowed, so please leave all pets at home for the run.
Is there somewhere to stow my belongings?
We do offer a complimentary gear check at each event. Visit the “Gear Check” tent to stow your belongings…really anything you don’t want covered in mud that you can fit in on, duffel bag, tote or backpack! One bag per person, no re-checking bags and no coolers. Gear check is not in a covered area and is open to the weather, so we recommend leaving all valuables at home.
What is the weather policy?

Is the mud clean?
The DirtyBird MudRun uses the highest level of sifted top soil. Safety is our main concern and our course managers do their best to keep our course as sanitary as possible.
If you are concerned about mud reaching your eyes we suggest wearing sunglasses or goggles. Protective eyewear in any sport is a great idea!
Will there be a photographer?
We will have photographers on site taking pictures that day, so be sure to secure your bib on the front of your shirt so we can identify you in your pictures. Photos will be available online around July 15th.
Are spectators allowed and is there a charge?
There is no charge for spectators (does not apply to parking fees). They will be able to see the start and finish areas plus a couple, but not all, obstacles. We try to make the courses as spectator friendly as possible while also keeping participant safety in mind, as that is our number one concern. Spectators will not be able to board the Tram during event hours.
I left something behind, is there a lost and found?
We do have a lost and found at each of our events so if you misplaced something you can check at the event to see if it was turned in. After the run, if there are any unclaimed items, we will hold on to them. Please contact firstname.lastname@example.org if you misplaced something at one of our events.
What do I get with my registration fee?
In addition to the time of your life, pride that you set a World Record and bragging rights for the rest of the year…your registration fee entitles you to the inaugural DirtyBird event shirt, the best finisher medal known to man, and official compression arm sleeves to make your muscles look better than they already do. You can also count on a receiving an amazing post race apre party (is that duplicative?), photos from your event, an awesome tram ride to the top, gear check and a bunch of sponsored swag that will make your life better.

IS DIRTYBIRD THE EVENT FOR YOU? >>
I am not in the best of shape, can I still participate?
Even though we asked this question, we’re not qualified to answer it 🙂 This event is not for the feint of heart. You will start the event at 11,000′ of altitude and slide down almost .7 miles to the base of Mineral Basin. Then you will run approximately 5.5 miles to the bottom of the famous Snowbird Ski Resort…but, you’ll also be climbing over huge obstacles, through giant mud pits and 3,600′ of elevation loss! So if you think you can at least walk a 10km run, then you could probably do this. But you may have to channel your inner-superhero to get to the finish line. Though you may be able to wash all the mud off your body, you won’t be able to wash off the sense of accomplishment.
*Please consult a doctor and tell them – “I’m considering sliding down the World’s Longest Water Slide and then getting mud in every orifice possible.” Please film the response and put it on our facebook page.
I am pregnant/have a medical issue, can I still participate?
We may know how to put on an awesome event, but our prenatal/medical knowledge is limited. Consult your doctor before registering.
What if I can’t complete a particular obstacle?
All obstacles are manageable. We think you’ll surprise yourself with what you can accomplish, but if you feel you can’t tackle one of the obstacles, you can take one of our detours.
Do I have to know how to swim to do the water pit?
No. The water pit will be knee to waist deep and you’ll just need to traverse through it. Water wings are optional, and if you don’t feel comfortable you may always bypass them.
What is the minimum age to participate?
The minimum age to participate is 16 years old. Anyone under the age of 18 will need to have a parent or guardian accompany them to packet pick-up the day of the event. The parent or guardian must sign the waiver at packet pick-up and online during the registration process for any minor.
Do I have to be in a team to participate?
No. You can participate as an individual or as a team; whatever suites you best.
